Almost Forgot How Much I Still Like the Simpsons
I remember the days when the syndicated Simpsons episodes aired in the dead time between day-time talk shows and prime time meant something to me. And just last night I was again reminded how much I like the Simpsons.
Remember "Hurricane Neddy"? Great episode. We finally learn why Ned Flanders speaks the way he does. Ever since that episode first aired, I can insert in curse words for Ned's nonsensical rhyme-speak. Try it. He's way more funny if you put in some f-bombs.
And then, the full hour of Simpsons syndicated reruns continued with the episode in which Marge takes on a pretzel wagon franchise and the Mob, thanks to Homer. Truthfully, I'm not a fan of Marge-centered episodes (except the one where she becomes a cop -- there could be more, but that's the stand out for me right now), but I do enjoy her rivalry with Maude, Luann, Edna, and um, um, "Agnes, you know my name is Agnes. It means lamb, lamb of god."
I love the spanish version and I love how the image is backwards.
Let this be a lesson to me and anyone else losing their love for and need of that daily dose of Simpsons to remember the good ol' days. Even though I am ready for the Simpsons to end their historic TV run, I will NEVER be ready for the reruns to end.
