Nancy Cartwright Honored by Church of Scientology (LINK)
So there I am sitting on the bus, reading the latest issue of Time Magazine, and on page 14, in the People Section, under Briefing, is a picture of Bart Simpson, with his ubiquitous skateboard and a cocky expression. It seems that Nancy Cartwright, once counted among my personal heroes, has been honored by the Church of Scientology, and that honor came after Ms. Cartwright donated $10 million to the Church last year.
And the "brief" makes mention that the $10 million is twice Cartwright's annual salary.
The Award is called the "Patron Laureate Award."
I am not sure what bothers me the most...That Cartwright is a scientologist or that Scientology gives out awards to the biggest donors. Who else has received this Award?
From Page Six. Although it does seem that the original link is no longer available.

Here are some of the celeb gifts from 2007 and their corresponding
rewards:
Nancy Cartwright, 50, Patron Laureate Award: $10 million.
Kirstie Alley, 57, Diamond Meritorious Award: $5 million.
John Travolta, 53, Gold Meritorious Award: $1 million.
Kelly Preston, 45, Gold Meritorious Award: $1 million.
Priscilla Presley, 62, Patron Award: $50,000.
Longtime Scientologist Nancy Cartwright -- best known as the voice of
Bart Simpson -- last year gave the church $10 million to help spread
the word of founder L. Ron Hubbard into other galaxies.
It was all part of Scientology's Global Salvage effort, which aims to
"de-aberrate" Earth -- meaning to rid mankind of psychology ills and
other "aberrant" behavior.
Surprisingly, Nancy, 50, forked over twice as much as the
Scientology's most prominent member, Tom Cruise, who only gave $5
million in an installment plan.
In 2004, the 46-year-old Lions for Lambs actor was awarded a Platinum
Meritorious Award for a $2.5 million gift. Two years later, he doled
out another $2.5 million, for which the International Association of
Scientologists kicked him up to Diamond Meritorious awardee.
