Futurama Filling the Void
I really meant to address this issue earlier, but here goes the first installment, anyway...
With the general crapiness of the Simpsons becoming so well-entrenched that I don't even bothering watching what was previously my favorite show, Futurama has become my go-to for that Groening-esque satire that I desperately crave. The first new season on Comedy Central was, well, delightful, almost brilliant. I plan on devoting a post to each episode as I need to focus on something to write about on this site, and the Simpsons ain't gonna be it.
Last night, Comedy Central aired the Futurama Holiday Spectacular, which played on holiday characters previously introduced in the series. It's set up like an "Anthology of Interest," and yes, former Vice President Al Gore continues to work with the Futurama team. Storylines included Kwanzabot, Robanukah, and the homicidal Robot Santa.
Check out the schedule on Comedy Central to catch the episode. Since they tend to replay Futurama a lot, I'm sure you can find it over the next month.
