Simpsons' Creator Charity Challenge
No, not Matt Groening, but co-creator Sam Simon.

Wow, funny and a giving guy.
Actually, he was on, oh, what was it, 60 Minutes a month or two back, and he is no longer actively working on the show. But he must make a ton of money off of those funny yellow people with overbites and three fingers. And he is nice enough to give it away. Do you think he will give the whole $500,000 even if the donations are not that much?

The Sam Simon Challenge
Sam Simon, co-creator of The Simpsons and writer, producer and director of some of TV’s most popular shows such as Cheers and Taxi, has teamed up with Save the Children for the Sam Simon Challenge. Our goal – which we can reach with your help – is to raise $1 million to help support all of our work for children in the United States and around the world by the end of 2007.
Between now and midnight on December 31, Sam will match every donation that supports our mission made through our website, up to a total match of $500,000. That means your gift of $100 can become $200! A $500 gift can become $1,000! A $5,000 gift can become $10,000 in support that helps Save the Children respond to children’s immediate and long-term needs worldwide.
