Venezuelans Don't Like Their Simpsons in the Morning
Ran across this little story on Yahoo yesterday.
It seems that a Venezuelan television station has been punished for showing Simpsons reruns at 11am. Seems that the Venezuelan tv regulators have deemed that morning hours should be "kid-friendly" shows only. Now the station has to air two public service ads a day for thirty days as part of it's reprimand.

Yeah, Baywatch is totally kid-friendly...
One of the cooler little kids I ever met, Mac Middleton, started watching Simpsons young, and seeing this kid grow up was cool, because when he was around eight, he only got some of the jokes. As he got older, he got more and more of the jokes. If anything, the Simpsons provided Mac a great comedy education. The kid is hilarious, by the way, and can trade me Simpsons quotes and has even stumped me on occasion. And that is not easy...

CARACAS, Venezuela - Venezuelan regulators are forcing a local TV station to show public service announcements as punishment for broadcasting "The Simpsons" during a time slot reserved for children's programs.
The Televen channel yanked the animated hit from its lineup in April after regulators said its 11 a.m. showing violated broadcast rules intended to protect young viewers. "The Simpsons" returned to the air at night, and was replaced in the morning with "Baywatch Hawaii."
